The Neurological Levels of Change

Robert Dilts’s Neurological Levels of Change provides a structured framework for understanding how change occurs in individuals and organisations. The model is useful for leaders looking to implement change effectively, as it highlights six levels at which change can be addressed. The levels form a hierarchy from bottom to top, ranging from the environment right up to a higher purpose or mission.

The six levels, starting from the bottom, are:

  1. Environment: Where are you and who are you with?

  2. Behaviour: What are you doing or not doing?

  3. Skills and capabilities: Which skills and training are you using or missing?

  4. Beliefs and values: What’s important to you and what do you believe about yourself?

  5. Identity: Who are you?

  6. Purpose: Why are you doing these things?

A walkthrough video will be coming soon, in the meantime, click the button below to download the walkthrough sheet and detailed instructions which will enable you to utilise this powerful framework.
